Gator football player placed on probation
Former Florida football player Wondy Pierre-Louis pled guilty to two counts of criminal mischief on Wednesday and was given a year's probation.
The Gainesville state attorney's office filed two counts of criminal mischief filed against Pierre-Louis for a mid-January incident involving his girlfriend.
The first count filed was for damaging a door and the other for damage done to the alleged victim's cell phone. Pierre-Louis, free on $40,000 bond until Wednesday's plea arrangement, was arrested on Jan. 17 and charged with domestic battery by strangulation.
The initial arrest report alleged that Starlett Lazenberry, his girlfriend, told police Pierre-Louis had choked her. But she disputed the police report's accuracy at first appearance and also appeared Wednesday on Pierre-Louis's behalf.
